I don't know where they got that idea, but some are quite intereting.

That was just the first result I found in a generic search. Turns out it was the Mercedes-Benz T-80.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mercedes-Benz_T80
Quote:

The Mercedes-Benz T80 was a six-wheeled vehicle built by Mercedes-Benz, developed and designed by Ferdinand Porsche. It was intended to break the world land speed record, but never made the attempt, the project having been overtaken by the outbreak of World War II.
Much like Porche's Rome-Berlin race car and the State of Jefferson from northern California it was not to be.

Oddity would be an understatement if such vehicle ever becomes technically viable.

IIRC that vehicle actually existed. A one-off 'safety' vehicle contemporary with that Hudson that was chopped into an articulated center-steer monstrosity.

[citation needed] I tried.

Redonkulus.

Faster backwards. My 1959 Rambler had identical front and rear bumpers and left and right door [window fames].

Radiusing the windshield surround would do more than those air curtains, one speculates.

Considering how the rounded roof provided more structural rigidity to the New Beetle compared to the 4th-generation Golf, would be interesting to find out how this.. err.. beauty would perform in a crash test.
