Those headlights are stock. They were used in the late versions of the Chevrolet Opala. Tail lights are from the Opel Omega A.

The same treatment given to that D20 is not so common in Jap compact trucks, but not totally unheard of...

I don't think it's so bad. The roof rack has to be forgiven for the use case, the shape is generic but not too bad with flush glass, and a good separation edge on the back.
Ditching the mirrors might be possible?

I agree, it's not so bad at all.
The sloping roof helps, and as far as wheel flares go these could be better, but most SUV are worse in North America today.
A roof rack is never going to get our approval, but this one addresses the most obvious offenses in style.
I bet it even has a few partial belly trays under there.
