Pull your security blanket, like this guy did. Check out this good guy's EV vlogs and his fun adventure with an EV Samba. Check out his range extender trailer build, so he could make it to the Buses by the Bridge, the largest VW bus camp-out in the US.

The first video is a good summation of his EV build. The 23-window double-door body is a phantom. He put a lot of energy into those laptop 18650s for not much gain.

It's always sad to see more of the bad blood between EV West and EVT.

The second video should be of interest to a least a couple of people here.

They might be on the cutting edge but both groups seem like a bunch of ideots in practice.

Could never get into any of their videos.

Written content and photos were fine, but everything else didn't make senses.

I'd really like to see an adapter cord for this: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pacific_DC_Intertie 3.1 GWatts at 1000 KV? Sure :-)

I have sold plenty of adapter cords that will allow level 2 charging at an RV park.

So, all the Chicken Little stuff about EV's is misguided.
Here is another video of towning a Leaf to charge it that still plays.

It is brief and done at a slow speed but shows that it will obviously work. I'm surprised no one has ever done a more serious attempt to see what capacity can really be put back. Or even a video of a Leaf coming down a long mountain descent. His power flow indicator seems to show a higher charge rate at the beginning and then taper off to 1 bar max later. But surely this can't be the maximum from heat already after such a short run. Maybe he just wasn't pressing on the brake pedal enough. There are many mountain passes all over the world that will take an hour or more to descend.

Late to this thread, but I have two EVs, no ICE vehicles. No range anxiety for us. 35k miles on one and 9k on the other. We've done road trips up and down the West Coast, and this summer we drove from Northern California down the coast to LA, through Arizona, Grand Canyon, Vegas, Death Valley, up 395 to the Bristlecone Pine Forest, to Mammoth, Mono Lake, down through Yosemite, and back home. Did all of that in 10 days, including multiway stops. It's not terribly dissimilar to road tripping in an ICE.
