Yes.

I took apart the fuel pump and I am unsure if it is a recirculating fuel pump. If it is a non recirculating fuel pump I can make it external fuel pump without cutting into the fuel tanks.

Fuel tanks arrived. 4L total.

I don't remember having ever seen a recirculating fuel pump in a motorcycle.

Now you have, I rigged up the entry hole of the pump with a piece of hose leading into the fuel tank and engaged the fuel pump. The plastic pump housing has an exit hole for excess petrol and this allowed the petrol to flow back into the tank.

I then tested the fuel pump with a hose at either end and engaged the fuel pump. I noticed the small hole on the bottom of the fuel pump (first picture bottom hole) was leaking, drip, drip, drip...

So that shoots a hole in my plans for an externally mounted fuel pump. I should have tested this before purchasing fittings but this is what you learn through experience.

I must confess I wouldn't be so comfortable with a fully-exposed fuel pump. You never know how badly it might get damaged either at a crash or if some roadside debris hit it.
