I didn't know what the ADL was until following that link.
They've been on my radar for prolly decades, along with that other NGO, the one started by Morris Dees. They've been around since 1913. Possibly benign until cyberspace came along. Now it's all fog of info-war.

How about them small cars, eh?

Makes me remind what happened in Brazil in late-'95, while GM was trying to replace the locally-made variants of the Opel Kadett E with the early Astra sourced from Belgium. Once the import duties were raised beyond the point, GM quit importing the Astra to Brazil and retained the Kadett until late-'98 when the subsequent generation of the Astra got scheduled to be made in Brazil. Argentina and Uruguay OTOH had the early Astra until '98, mostly with the Isuzu 4EE1 engine instead of the 2.0L gasser which was used in Brazil.

At least you didn't get a chicken tax that choked off the supply of Doka Synchros.

At least there’s a whole gang of interesting 90s stuff which will be eligible for import under our dumb 25 year gray-market rule over the coming years. Only downside is lack of OBD-II, which I just don’t want an EFI car without, it makes DIY troubleshooting sssssooooo much easier with the complexity of EFI, especially with anything more than glorified-carburetor TBI.

At least you're 5 years shorter than we are in Brazil to import privately ancient cars, plus you can get some RHD even if it's brand-new, as long as it's proven to be compliant to NHTSA crash standards and EPA emission regulations...

We didn't get them either. Last time I spotted a T3 on the wild was in 2012, and it had been a diplomatic import for the German consulate in Porto Alegre.

Next gen Honda Fit not coming to the U.S. "...for now"

Honda readies next-gen Fit, but not for U.S.

Quote:
...the automaker is also making it fairly obvious that the hatch won't be coming to the U.S. for the time being.

[...]

The lack of a redesigned Fit for the U.S. market could suggest that Honda will leave the segment and end production of the current Fit at its plant in Mexico. Sales of the Fit in the U.S. have fallen 17 percent through September, to 27,268 units.
