Top 100 !

Hey touring21, it seems we're both (just) in the top 100 at the moment.

I guess the really fuel efficient guys are enduring winter MPG droop, while we bask in the glorious Aussie summer.

Lets make hay while the sun shines.

I've gone 900km for my last two fills now, but I've got a larger tank.

Still, I thought 5.5 L/100km was an unreachable goal for me as little as 6 months ago.
I'm going to see how far I can push it while the hot weather (and the shift I'm working at the moment) lasts.

Ha! I've already been bumped out of the top 100.
Well, I didn't think it would be long.

Every time I come into this thread someone is talking about 4age 20Vs. Makes me miss my 86 MR with a 20V black top and 6 speed that much more. But I needed to get rid of it and get cars with a back seat for family purposes. While I still have my high MPG civic, I am wondering what team my new car will fall under. Team Sports car seems to be the most logical. The car in question is a 2003 Lexus IS300 sport design manual transmission with a LSD rear end. The stock power levels are pretty weak so I am swapping in a 2JZ GTE vvti engine (last generation supra twin turbo engine) with an R154 tranmission (3rd Gen supra trans). The setup should be pretty solid for 400-500 whp while still geared pretty tall with the R154 and the 3.7 rear end to get decent mpg.

Assuming 4 doors are allowed, expect me to be joining the sports car team soon.

Welcome 2dr and 4drs welcome here, I think a 2jz powered rwd would suffice
My car will be on the road soon... So I can get some gas in it and show up on the team again.

Well, if they've put up with my Mazda for this long, your Lexus should be welcome.

I do hope to be replacing the Mazda in the ranks of the Sports Car Team soon, however.
My Datsun is (slowly) progressing.

The 4N71B gearbox swap is nearly done, although I keep finding more that needs to be done before it hits the street.

Well, summer is finished in the southern hemisphere and I've made it to number 49 on the MPG list with an average of 5.33 l/100km in the Mazda.

I've got the Datsun back on the road finally!
It's running like a hairy goat on 12 month old fuel at present, but I'll get some new fuel soon and start tracking fuel consumption again.

Pete.
