I don't think there was a 5-speed that came with the Coyotes (Mustang or F-150). I'm really hoping it's the MT-82, and I score a 6-speed.
Or if it ends up being a T-3650, I'm ok with that too.....for $200.

Then I'll press into a manual swap with summer, once the Marauder comes online.

Fairly certain the mt-82 will bolt up. People don't like them because of their 375lb-ft rating but thats perfect for a 4.6. Also the spread on the ratios is a little better between the low ratios and the overdrive ratio.

Back at it.
Looks like it blew a head gasket. Motor kept loosing coolant, but wasn't burning it, leaking it externally, and the oil didn't look like chocolate milk. Oil pressures were all over they place at idle, and even up to 1500+rpm. Kept overheating like crazy, even after starting it and driving it for less than 2 minutes.
I have another motor, 73k PI motor out of a 03 CVPI. Unfortunately, it has the iron block, but at this time, I can get it back on the road and put some miles down.
And get ready for the GGP again.

Pulled the entire A/C system out yesterday; in one piece. Didn't even have to bleed it! Still pressurized, lol.

That was good for a 41.6 lbs reduction. A maybe a horsey or two.

Time to grab a few parts and get this motor back in. Kinda sucks having to put the iron block in after having the aluminum block, but I can only do so much right now.

I built it from a junkyard motor or two. No real warranty to speak of, lol.

But hey, it'll make a sweet table or something one day.

I, too have a Crown Vic. 2010 P71 CVPI.

Great practical car. Essentially has the base drive train of a F150. Legendary reliability.

I wonder if the poster who re-tuned the Corvette for 40 MPG can re-tune a Crown Vic with a 4.6? If so the car might make a good manual transission candidate.

Mine gets roughly 20 MPG. Haven't done a formal 1600 mile test yet.

I used to own an '03 Crown Vic that I bought new and ran for 10 years until my wife demanded an SUV so it was replaced with an Explorer.

That ole Crown Vic required nothing but renewed tires and batteries, and the smooth 4.6 V8 was the most efficient engine of that ilk I've ever owned. I remember averaging around 30mpg at 55mph on the highway without any more effort at achieving good fuel economy but the speed setting on cruise control.

I'd still own that car, but marital bliss is comprised of a series of compromises. The Explorer was one of mine.

I could definitely see that. Considering weight isn't a huge factor at high speeds, and the crown vic has way better aerodynamics than the mustang. I have a screen shot of the FR500s and it said with the open front grille, slightly wider tires, and rear wing the drag coefficient is at 0.42.
Thats jeep territory lol

I live out in the middle of nowhere, and all the roads are straight and 55 mph, so once I get up to speed, life is good.
Just need to work on removing some more weight that was unfortunately added by having to put an iron block back in. I'll get it too 3500#. I'm sure.

Makes me wonder if you could've overcome your wife's demands for an SUV if a station-wagon variant remained available for the Crown Vic by then.
