I wasn't referring to the lack of infrastructure in your area, I was referring to the lack of reliable infrastructure in your area. If your car choice is determined by regular road closures due to avalanches and rockslides, no amount of plug-in or battery-swap stations will make your road network reliable.

I still hope the back seats will be able to fold forward so the car can handle transporting two people with 2 golf bags with trolley's without getting the back seats dirty.
And I wished Tesla would indeed consider an option with a more semi hatchback type for the rear as it would make the car so much more versatile. It seems to me if the glass would split where the current hinges are it doesn't compromise the head space of the passengers in the back, although the rear mirror view would suffer a little it would still be doable, there are already a few other brands who solved it that way and split the rear window, it's easy to get used to when you look in the mirror. Or otherwise why not reserve some rectangle on the lcd display for a backward camera view or an LCD mirror instead (not blocked by possible passengers) ?

I like the front as it makes a statement indeed, but I wonder where the forward license plate will go. Still did a reservation. I think it's a very exciting car.

Today is the big day for Tesla - they deliver the first Model 3's tonight! The Model 3 is the entire reason that Tesla exists.

This may be one of the biggest days in automotive history.

There is a hint that the Model 3 is averaging 237Wh/mile - which puts it's range at about 250 miles on the 60kWh battery. And it may also have a 75kWh battery available.

The market has moved on since the idea for the Model 3 was conceived. Sales of sedans are tanking in favour of crossovers. Manufacturers are cancelling sedan production left & right, and figuring out ways to produce or import jacked up hatchbacks instead.

I bet Elon wishes an affordable Model Y was the vehicle they were currently ramping up right now.

I actually watched the live webcast of the Model 3's unveiling. But I'll read about this evening's news tomorrow.

Elon is nothing if not an entrepreneur. If demand for a cross-over out-strips the demand for a sedan, he will get a product designed and scheduled for production

The basics:

220 mile range on the standard battery, and a base price of $35,000.

310 mile range on the long range battery, and a base price of $44,000.

Going by the hint we got recently that the Model 3 averages 237Wh / mile, the battery pack capacities work out to be ~55kWh and 75kWh respectively.

Cd is 0.23 - which is impressive; and definitely with the standard Aero wheels. Sport wheels add $1500 and increase the Cd (and cut the range, too).

The acceleration to 60MPH is 5.5s and 5.1s respectively, and top speeds are 130MPH and 140MPH.
