Panel gaps and paint scores. Tesla promised to fix all, providing him with a replacement in the meantime.
Still, while the variation in panel gaps isn't that bad, the paint issues are not what you'd like for a new car.

$14.04 cost at Tesla's supercharger station got him 200 miles of range. With gas averaging 2.25/ gal in the US right now that's cost equivalent to getting 32 mpg US for that distance. Not horrible? Of course it's vastly less expensive charging at home.
I'm glad I built my own charging infrastructure.

It is not hard to see the massive effect that the Tesla Model 3 on the rest of the automotive industry.
It is the safest car. Ever.
The Model S is the next safest, and the Model X the next after that. All 3 are in another league from the rest of the vehicles being built today.
Electric cars are about 4X as efficient as the average ICE car. They are less expensive to drive; even with cheap gas.
Electric cars require virtually no regular maintenance.
The high performance electric cars, are supercars - or hypercars - at a fraction of the cost of those with ICE's. The Tesla Roadster 2 looks to redefine high performance.
The Rivian R1T will accelerate 0-60MPH in 3 seconds (or less?). That is a 5 seat pickup truck ... Oh, and it has full torque vectoring, and it is about 2X the efficiency of a Prius.
I with you Neil on all of that. I am charging at 8 cents a kWh right now. Even at 12 cents which is the normal rate it is still a runaway bargain. I don't understand why some folks want to cling to their combustion engine planet killing vehicles but the world is passing them by. Gas cars will not be missed and belong in museums.

Because except for the Tesla Roadster* (which even used goes for way more than I'd want to pay for a car), nobody seems to want to build the sort of car I'd want to drive. They basically build 4-door sedans, then load them down with touch screen displays, self-driving systems, and so forth.
Arcimoto have a concept called Minimum Viable Product. Their FUV is autonomous-ready in the hardware sense, but will startup and drive without a smart phone in the cradle.
Plus Bluetooth speakers.
