Consumer Reports took back their recommendation again.

CR says it is also removing its recommended rating for the Chrysler 300, Dodge Charger, Acura RDX, BMW 5 Series, and Volkswagen Tiguan.

Tesla is also going to start leasing Model 3s to boost sales.

https://electrek.co/2019/02/19/tesla-model-3-leasing/

Odd considering they are sitting on more reservations than they can produce in 2019.

I'm sure they are looking to move higher margin cars than the mysterious and as of yet nonexistent $35,000 New Tesla.

Disclosure: I am an owner of a sub 30K used Tesla Model S

Not only that, but Tesla will pocket the $3750 tax credit on each leased vehicle. Smart move.

Agreed. I suspect Tesla is going to try to tempt the reservation holders that are holding out for the base model to lease a more expensive trim.

The SEC is using Musk's "500K cars in 2019" tweet last week as proof that nobody from Tesla is monitoring and approving his tweets as required by his settlement with the SEC. They have asked a federal judge to find him in contempt of court.

Someone should find the SEC in contempt of freedom of speech. If I ever Tweet something and they take it seriously, I'll tell them they can kiss my...

Granted, Musk made an agreement and he should stick to it, and he's a fairly despicable person to begin with, but I like seeing anyone mess with the arbitrary and worthless SEC. Funny how he's a both a savant and an idiot.

I read Elon responded that the information on production numbers was already publicly available.
