It varies from totaled for cosmetic damage, to flaming wreckage strewn down the street.

There will be some statistical mean, that's a data problem.

The model 3 batteries will be very very difficult to separate into modules. They are nearly encapsulated in a single unit with some very difficult to remove substance. Also, the corrugated hollow copper cooling tubes are intertwined with the cells. I nearly bought one until I luckily discovered the potting stuff. Model S cells can be removed as modules, as stated above. I believe they are 55V per module ?

Exactly. Glued together and not serviceable.

*Not Easily Serviceable.

But easily salvageable. If you have a friend who wrecks his model 3 don't hesitate to buy the car if the battery pack is still good!
Lots of money in seperating the 21700 cells, or offering individual modules to the "power wall" / ev conversion guys.

Hayden55, I would love to hear your method of separating those 21700 cells.

The short version its basically dissassemble the pack as shown then get the cooling jackets out of the way and start desoldering each cylindrical cell like those cheap chinese firecrackers we used to split apart as kids. You should watch some Jehu Garcia stuff on youtube. OR join the facebook group "Jehu's Diy Power walls"
Its pretty much a group about recycling batteries into repurposed storage. Mostly 18650s is the focus though.

Then you can start the next tedious process of putting new pvc jackets on each battery. lol

But I will say depending on what you're using it for you can just leave the pack assembled and add BMS protection on top of it. I know a lot of RV guys do this.

Ummmm , That video shows 18650 cell modules. ?

I do watch Jehu videos, just don't do facebook.
I will see if I can find the 21700 model 3 battery video. It is totally different from the video you posted.

This is the Model 3 module. Notice that bluish-green glue holding everything together
