You're right: the EPA figures quoted are not for the HD trucks. Couldn't resist posting that ridiculous mug though. Neither could the source article.
As I’ve stated their goal is to make the new 1500 truck below

The endgame is to integrate the truck to the barn for the ultimate "Barn On Wheels" macho genitalia extender/female safety and security experience. This one is a work in progress:

An earlier scale "proof of concept" prototype:

P.S. The reason there is little to no outward visibility is that it isn't needed; these will be autonomous so that square dances and dairy operations and such can be indulged in while travelling if desired. But even in manual mode, such inconveniences as other traffic, pedestrians, residences, structures, and such can simply be obliterated as the collateral damage they are.

One model name under consideration is "Colossus Sport XXXL".

There's some speculation that car buyers are holding out for EVs but there's no EV truck available yet.

Here's a good YouTube video about the weird demand that EVs might cause. Or, I'm giving Americans too much credit and they really do think, "economy's good, I'm gonna buy the biggest vehicle I can afford."

Is that what those guys said? They're completely wrong if so.

The general population doesn't have EVs on their radar, and they aren't holding out for anything.

Probably less than 10% of people even know what MPG their cars roughly average. Not many more know how much they spend in fuel monthly.

Finally, people buying new cars can afford to buy fuel, practically regardless of the current price. By definition they are more wealthy since they can afford the huge financial hit buying new represents. The new cars are what become used cars later on, so us used buyers are at the mercy of the whims of the wealthy.

Actually I think that’s just the 2020 Silverado 6500HD... complete with its 12.6L Duramax V8 and Alison automatic boasting a class leading 750hp/2650tq... when eqipped with tandem axles and diff locks it can launch to a 0-60 time of 7.5 seconds... fuel economy was measured at a class leading 8.4mpg...

That's just the ticket for my 200 mile daily solo unladen commute! (And multiple intra-daily walking-distance hops about town)

...except I want mine to have 10, 12, or maybe 16 cylinders.
