You don't happen to have any pictures of building the body, or what it looked like before it?

I'm having no luck finding them in the geologic column they're supposed to be in. If I get lucky and find them, I'll post'em.

Centurion - The story rolls on!!!!!!!!!
-
A big truck and trailer showed up today:

-
And when the rear door opened, there it was!

-
Back in 1982, the dash looked like this:

-
But after many years of neglect it went downhill. Fast forward to 2017, and it looks like this:

-
After a couple hours of cleaning, it got better:

-

-
In 1982, the exterior looked like this:

-
In 2017, the exterior is needing attention:

-
Along with two original tires from the 1982 release, a "Total Recall" movie prop (shield) came with the car:

-
I can soooo do this!
The adventure continues....

I am little bamboosed here. Does it mean you own two Centurions now? What are the plans? I understood that the original one goes to kind of retirement. What will happen with the second one? Project car? The photos didn't tell whole story and last 5+ pages either. Could you share more, please?

seifrob,
Yes there are now two Centurions at CrazyJerry's place. The gray one with the skirts (that surpassed 200 mpg at Watkins Glen Green Grand Prix in 2014, 2015 and 2016) is taking a break for awhile.
-
The latest one (Gold in color) is in fact the original Centurion (designed by R.Q. Riley) that appeared on the cover of the February 1982 Edition of Mechanix Illustrated and then went on to be a background car in the 1990 movie version of "Total Recall starring Arnold Schwarzenegger. It's a bit of a mess right now but plans are to fully restore it as it was in 1982.

Wow!

How does it feel? I mean, Centurions must be really rare. Now you have two of them, and more, the original. living piece of history.

- How did you get it? I feel there is story behind it.

(But I assume you incline more to the gray one anyway)

seifrob,
To have the original Centurion prototype here is truly a dream come true.
It was "that car" on the front cover of the February 1982 Mechanix Illustrated that started a fire long ago, and, I've been digging a very long time to find it. The car slipped away from me twice over the years as it was simply out of my reach: geographically and financially. But, as the old saying goes: "three times a charm" and when it became available, I went for it. It's going to be a serious amount of work to restore her, but, I look forward to every challenging piece!
-
I still love my primered gray creation as it has allowed me to modify it without hurting its value. Because of its stunning 3 year performance at the Toyota Green Grand Prix at Watkins Glen International Raceway, it now has a rich history that makes a wonderful addition to the Original Centurion's story. The icing on the cake for this one is that I get to drive it nearly every day!
-
Going forward, I have some interesting plans and have been in contact with Centurion's original designer "Robert Q. Riley" who has graciously (and humorously) helped to fill in some historical data - and that is just priceless!!
-
The story rolls on................

That's amazing! Expecially that you've followed it through the years.
