This is really coming along! Excellent work!

I reckon I have to agree about the exhaust though- could you not better utilise the gasses at the rear of the car?essentially creat a "curtain" of air?

It doesn't have to go all the way to the back, if you keep it as long as it is now, it's not going to weigh more.

The car's body would be muffling the sound - more if you ever add sideskirts.
And it'd be invisible.

You could have it exhaust inside a streamlined shape that's lined with high temperature resistant sound deadening material. Doesn't need to be metal / heavy.

Noise limit is 85 dB and I believe its under that by clear margin.
At work, we were surprised at the noise levels when they were measured with the plant running full tilt, and how easy it is to go above 80 and reach 85.

You could try the serrated edges on the exhaust tip - it works for Boeing

Basicly the pipe is invisible at the moment. Its little bit inside the sideskirt so if you are standing next to car and its turned off you wont be able to tell where the pipe is located. When engine is running you can smell the fumes on the drivers door its difficult to tell where the exit point is on the noise at idle.

I would not feel safe to make the exit on the center tunnel/underl of the car. There is too much risk to get fumes inside.

I will get back to this exhaust pipe thing in the future and might test few possibilities. I also got a tip of this kind of product:
MICROTEX HT Lightweight Acoustic Absorption Material for Automotive Exhaust Silencers

I sended a enquiry but no response yet. If I am able to get this stuff pipe will go all the way to back.

Isn't Lithuania very cold, very soon, for a very long time? If so, stick with the factory recommendation for the cold months. EDIT: okay, I looked it up, apparently it is not very cold in the winter. In which case you might be fine with 0W20. Make sure it is 100% synthetic, group 4 or 5 I think, if memory serves.

Yes now about 5-6 months it wouldn't be hot here. Just like in Finland.

There is no oils with proper vw standard (vw 506.01 or higher) with 0W20 so I would not put it in my engine. If you can find a oil with proper vw spec please let me know. If it fulfills the standard then it should be ok. I will propably put next time Agip 7007 0W-30 which is cheapest or new 0W-30 from agip which is called i-sint tech. Newer oil should be better so might try that new version.

Red Line Synthetic Oil - Gear Oil for Manual Transmissions - MTL 70W80 GL-4 Gear Oil

For gearbox I will try redline MTL which is 70W80, but still fulfills API GL-4. VW recommends 75W90. If you have balls to test the best option would be redline shockproof light.Red Line Synthetic Oil - Gear Oil for Manual Transmissions - Lightweight ShockProof®

Gearbox oil change interval is 30000km if I have proper data.

Rest of lupo mods will be revealed at x-treme motor show at the end of september. Target bar is set to 1st price trophy in some category!.

X-Treme.fi

Mods that I will try to finish to the show:
- Controllable air dam
- New tires + wicked rim wheelcovers
- wicked "decals" all over the car
- Little bit of painting
- window tinting
etc.

I will update the fuel log all the time but no pictures will not come before the show .

rear windows tinted, controllable airdam almost ready. Put some cetan booster to fuel. Bottle claims 5% fuel savings, this was free so I give it a shot... I will make more better test later when all changes are almost ready. Now I will just put it in to clear the system which it should do.

Had some technical issues. gearbox hydraulic oil fluid sensor said level was too low and it was. Last week the level was on about half so I have to monitor the situation. For VW Lupo 3L gearbox hydraulic pump need green VAG power steering fluid. Dont put nothing else in or you will brake the system. Just the pump costs 1200€.

Get a second Lupo just for spare parts.
