Sweden is car builders heaven compared to Finland and as mentioned above there are ways to get stamp if needed...

The windscreen is still original and therefore crashproof. Actually even safer because glass is tilted more .

What comes to glass strength the original side glass was quite tough thing to break as you can see.

At the moment painting roof rails and installing last side windows this weekend. Next week should get the new ECU and testing can really begin.

Today finally car started to give me little boost pressure but still not working like it should. This electric stuff is tough to solve with little experience.

Current looks. Still needs some shampoo and polishing and extra brake light to the centre.

Tuft testing will begin later this week so stay tuned.

Front windows dont open.

No test results yet. Tufts are perfectly aligned and I will try get a video that will work with youtube.

But the biggest news for today are:

We have boost!

I am so happy right now. We can increase the torgue because clutch is not slipping any bit, like it did with hydraulic system a lot. 60-120 km/h is already close to 6 seconds and we are only starting to tweak. Now back to garage...

Maybe this Sunday I am able to drive first fuel consumtion test after almost 9 month of silence.

OMG! tyres are screaming when the turbo goes on!
Well done Vekke! I can't wait for the fuel comsumption test!

Now you gonna beat your last record at the standing mile at speed party.

Ps : finally, what was wrong about the turbo?

Turbo was not broken it was some safety feature inside ECU program which started to limit torgue when speed got higher. We had similar problem already last year when we started to ask for more torgue. Then it was not this rapid limiter. This was working so that there were
- 1.0 bar with first gear.
- 0.7 bar with second
- and only 0.2 bar on third and no boost after that

Now there is again that 1.5 bar which will be risen to 2.0 after I install my bigger injectors. There is still too much back pressure with new exhaust manifold after 4000 rpm it goes abobe 2.5 which will give too hot exhaust gasses and can brake the new turbo.

I will install exhaust temperature meter which will tell if it gets too hot for the turbo.

What comes for the standing mile run target speed is set to 208 km/h for this year.
- I will have about 35 hp more. (target 120 hp and 250 Nm)
- about 60 kg less weight. (830 kg with driver)
- and much less drag

Spare engine will be dismantled next week and full rebuild/ race tune will start just in case if found the breaking point before those power figures on this current engine which has already driven 290 000 km so its not new.

Testing and tweaking continues to reach GTI VI figures
1/4 mile = 143 km/h ( GTI=151 km/h)
1000meters = 180 km/h in 30 s (GTI =27,3s, GTI 0-200 km/h in 32s)
60-120 km/h takes still under 7 seconds, is actually slower than in last video but back pressure is under control. Tuning will continue... (GTI = under 6s)

What this means I need only about 10% more power to have faster car than the golf GTI. At the moment there should be 95-100 hp so 110 should be enough to beat GTI.

I did also some fuel consumption testing and current setup gives 2.3 l/100km @ 100 km/h average speed easily if cars own meter is still accurate. So there is clear improvement to last september.

Short conclusion both this summers targets for Lupo 2L should be easy to reach when all planned mods are finished. So now its time to execute.

First attempt to reach 2 liters will happen on propably on Tuesday when weather should be plus 21 celsius. Before that I will need new mirror covers ready.
