I have dashcams primarily for referencing evasive maneuvers I perform to avoid collisions. Then it's for documenting accidents to assign responsibility appropriately and reduce the chance of hit and run getting away with it, finally, I have an interest in dissecting the development of an accident.

Yes, those are the right things to do.

I like watching the YouTube dashcam vids and there is definitely a portion of them where the cammer is looking for or creating trouble.

With some of them it's the last 15 seconds.

I can't find a picture online, and the ones I took are [possibly] lost in some backup, but 10-15 years ago at the Corvallis, OR, Da Vinci Days Kinetic Sculpture race someone fielded a pedal-power vehicle made from a yellow plastic septic tank on UTV mudder tires. It had a crew of 4-6 plus coxswain and a sound system playing a rap version of Yellow Submarine.

Found it!

Well, there was a real ultralight 4- wheeled vehicle among the Kinetic Sculptures. It was a replica of a 1960 Cadillac convertible that could float on its styrofoam belly pan. I'd search for a pic, but they took molds right from the car, so it looks just like any other Caddy in about 8" of water.

What I liked about the Kinetic Sculpture race was the course. 1/3rd paved, 1/3rd mud bog and 1/3rd water.

It looks like it's on again, in July. https://www.everfest.com/e/corvallis...s-corvallis-or

I guess they happen elsewhere.

Even comparing the 2CV to other vehicles of the same era, such as the Renault 4CV, the VW Beetle or the Ford Prefect, is quite hard. Even if we look simply at the role as an entry-level car, disconsidering major differences, the 2CV seems farther to have been successfully replaced than most of its contenders. And even though it was never so popular in Brazil as it used to be in Argentina, I honestly believe it's a smarter design than the Beetle, despite the engine size not leading to a fair comparison (becoming somewhat disadvantageous to the 2CV as an overall commuter for a family that couldn't afford to own a more powerful car along the 2CV and had to rely on it even for road trips). In 2012 I saw a white 2CV (officially renamed 3CV in Argentina when the 602cc engine became available) on a roadside gas station halfway from my hometown Porto Alegre to Florianópolis, and its owner told me he had been on the route from Patagonia to Florianópolis. Reliability of the 2CV/3CV doesn't require an introduction...

Traditionally, cars with an engine with fewer than 2 cylinders and less than 400cc tend to fail, so I wouldn't hold too many expectatives for the Bajaj Qute. I may eventually be wrong in case it eventually becomes a mid-term between the autorickshaws and regular taxis, but as a consumer product it seems prone to fail.

This old beauty on the other hand, looks great...
