Well, like I said - I'll take six months with one, get my $$ back out, and move on to another quirky thing to experience for six months.

Classic Car Values & Specs - NADAguides

It's all in the timing. A 1971 Superbeetle (mid-book) jumped from $7700 to $8200 over six months. But it's been stuck at $8800 for longer now. It will be on the market, starting at the NW Bug Run in Woodburn. I'd like to get $10K, we'll see....

When I said the '58 Canadian is the last, I actually have two. It will be around after the Super.

I had a Nissan I got from my brother for $100. He had lost his key so we had to drill out the lock cylinder. Got tired of using the screw driver to start the car each time, so installed rocker switches under the dash board to start the car. With auto locks, had to make sure that the kids or who ever borrowed the car, would not lock the doors when they got out of the car. Good times.

When your parts car (the Metro, for the Firefly) has a parts car. That would be the ForkenSwift, minus its EV bits. (Yes, I still have it. The neighbours are tolerant and/or patient.)

... when you realize you have the phone number memorized for your usual parts store.

And the parts guy says, "my computer shows the last time anyone bought those parts from us was 6 years ago." I replied, "it was probably me!"

(Metro exhaust gaskets)

Tomorrow is the last day of business for Brooks Auto Parts in Glenwood, OR. They have an 'EMPI wall' of VW parts that's famous all over the county.

My last Beetle Battery was $45/exchange through them.
