Teleman, it's been a proven fact for a long time that Ethanol makes more power even in traditional "Gasoline engines." It would be foolish mistake to claim Gasoline could ever approach Diesel levels...

Nope, only dry Ethanol with denaturant available here. I put 1 gallon of E85 into the van before I filled it. Works out to be just under E15, roughly. Going to work up to E30 at some point but I'm...

They are not going to mandate E30 nor do they mandate E15. The idea is to allow manufactures to certify their cars on it. A much better idea than just declaring all cars 2001+ legal to operate on a...

The FRS does not have a .27 CoeF, it is .29. The GT86 sold in Japan with the belly pans and spoiler has the advertised .27 CoeF. The USDM BRZ limited doesn't have the belly pan so it's .28 CoeF. If...

You do not want to add water to Gasoline though, the fuel pump will pick up slugs of water and make it run like crap. Now people do use as little as 160 proof ethanol in certain cases. It burns...

Everything takes more energy to make than it produces, Neil. It's called efficiency, and it's an unfortunate fact of life. What is important to us is how much fossil energy it takes or simply how...

I'm not sure exactly, but I know E50 is about 95.4 AKI Octane while E85 is about 95.6 Octane. I would guess it might be around E20-E30. E10 was 89 Octane before spec blending. I'm more than a little...

Yup, counter-intuitive isn't it? Oxygen is what makes the alcohols more energy efficient though. Granted there are engines that get MPG based on energy content, I've seen studies to verify this but...

That's your opinion and that is perfectly fine with me. Mine is on Ethanol, Hybrids, BEVs, and higher Gasoline prices. We already have 10% of our Fuel as Ethanol so it's just a matter of improving it.
