Acceleration - Agreed, its an issue to work out the best approach. The guy with the highest MPG I know of (a C1) uses < 2500 rpm always. But I do sometimes go higher...

Some cars are fine-tuned to have the external mirror inside a pocket of turbulence, or at least partially inside. Folding it allows the outer edge to hide inside that pocket.

Experiment: coast down distances (rolling resistance) @ various tire pressures

The purpose of the test was to get an idea of the difference in coasting distances in my '98 Metro/Firefly over a range of tire pressures, 20-60 psi.
