02 Jetta, need rear skirt mount ideas....

looking at the rear fenders, there seem to be diffs from the others that use the copper clips. i would like some ideas to mount them, not using tape. thinking velcro could work.
any suggestions?
EDIT, pics:

think there is a good chance to use the mounting points for the liner like NachtRitter suggested.

Get industrial velcro if you want to use that.
Test it before to see how much you can still get off again, cause the industrial grade really sticks together ;)

Funny... I saw you mention the side skirts in your grill block thread and was hoping you had some ideas... :)

I know the rear fenders of the Jetta really have no lip to attach anything to... a lot of great ideas on this site that can't be used on my car :(

Hadn't thought about using industrial grade velcro... might be an idea. Previously, my thoughts (after a bit of noodling) were to use the fender liner attach points to attach some brackets. Unfortunately, my bracket bending skills suck, and I haven't been able to get anything attached to the fender liner that was anywhere near aligned to where the skirt should go...

Hmmm... the industrial grade velcro is sounding better & better...

I bent some aluminum sheet to be attached to the factory fender liner mounts on the fender liner end and use speed nuts on the other for the fender skirt, but that is as far as I got. My plan was to have several mounting points for the fender skirt to screw into so only the screw head would show on the outside. I got stuck trying to decide what material to make them out of. Post a photo if you get something that works on a VW and doesn't damage the paint.

Have any pics of the bent aluminum sheet?

On my Honda VX I'd used a polyethylene water heater pan for the skirt material (similar to below), but the Jetta wheel well opening is larger than the largest pan I could find at HD. With a little support along the bottom, this was a great solution because it was thick enough to hold shape but flexible enough to absorb impact.

Alternatives might be coroplast or some other (flexible) plastic paneling... something that can take hard connection points while also being able to flex...
