07 malibu looking for 32 mpg

I have recently purchased a 07 Chevy malibu 2lt v6. I love the car and it gets ok mileage, about 27, but I wondered if I could do better. So I got online and discovered this website about a week ago. I've been trying out a few of the suggestions and I'm up to approximately 29 mpg! My daily commute is about 50/50 hwy to city, and is 75 miles a day. I'm looking for 32mpg as a goal. I like the style of my car as is, so I would like to keep it original, but I might be willing to change a few things, as long as it doesn't take away from the overall look. If anyone has any specific tricks to my car I would greatly appreciate the suggestions.

gwelcome!
the lt is a nice car.
gett a scangauge....makes a big difference watching the info that affects mpg.
even though my Infiniti Q45 has a factory mpg screen, I still run a scangauge.
Pump your tires up to 40-43psi.

i maxed out my 2000 monte carlo w/ a 3.4L at 33.3mpg for a tank in late october weather. no mods, just driving, biggest thing was keeping it under 55mph. typically i'd be closer to 29 though

Thank you for the tips. I bought a scan gauge e and it is working out great! I'm about half way through my first tank with it installed and I'm averaging 32.2 mpg! This website is great I have been recommending to my friends, family, and girlfriend. Just trying to spark an interest and it seems to be rubbing off on them. I'm going to see how far I can take this car as far as mpgs. Here in SE Michigan gas is over $4 a gallon, so I'm glad I found this site to help me out

I may take several tanks to calibrate the scangage. Me driving my wifes impala to work for a experiment with the 3.5v6 I can get over 32 mpg, but I'm more highway than you.

Keep up the good work! I have the 3.1l v6 in my Grand Am which is in the same family as your Malibus 3.5l. My best ever was 36.8mpg and it too live in MI. I have no doubt you could hit 35mpg avg like I did.
