11% gain ,..fact!
Thanks to you guys, I started hypermiling in my landrover 110 in uk , back in feb. I have always kept a milage log book, and each page equates to approx 4000miles +/- 500. at the end of the page an avg is worked out.
Now the previous 4 pages (approx 4000 miles each = 16000miles) have an avg of 26.4 uk mpg. I have done nothing to the truck really, just pumped up the tyres, fitted a grill block (rad muff) with a cut out for the intercooler and diverter, and a small filler strip twixt front bumper and body. BBUT my driving style has changed dramatically. Befoer I came upon this site I'd tried being econmical, but the mpg was worse! Doing it wrong I was. Then I found you lot, and hey presto!! My last page in the book, 4895miles @..........29.4mpg, and most of that is urban. thats 11% up. I've even upped my vw campers mpg ( '76 bay window with 2 ltr air cooled and corroplast side belly pans fitted) from about 23.5 to 28.4mpg. So thanks guys ( and girls ) you're saving me a packet. |

Congrats! I'm in the same boat -- been seeing some great mileage from my new truck just from changing my driving style. Talk about an amazing return on investment
