12 volt ESC for an American Bosch motor?
 

I have an old Palmer Twosome with the Tecumseh transaxle, American Bosch 12 volt motor and two completely bad 220AH 6 volt golf cart batteries.

The speed control is crazy primitive, four open coils of resistance wire, one of which has burned through at both ends, all mounted on a piece of wood. (This cost over $2,000 new?)

Rather than sink a ton of cash into a fancy new motor and high-tech batteries, I'd like to stick with 12 volts, the motor that's already on it, and upgrade the control so it can have longer range instead of wasting power in that set of heaters under the seat.

Your bike will love you for a modern speed controller , it should get much greater distance out of the batteries, especially at part throttle..

Perhaps on eBay you can find a 12v controller with enough amps.

No its not mine, I posted a image so we can see the Palmer , I have never heard of one before , I like it though.
I like your idea of keeping the motor original, not only is it nice to keep its parts original (minus the speed controller) but the 12v will be good for your batteries mileage.

Post a pic of your bikes drive if you can.

Industrial supply houses would have motor controls. Also consider a switching system to allow going from parallel to series when first starting. Motors draw more current at low RPMs and high load.
