Joining this forum was inevitable!

Hello, everyone! I've been a hypermiler for quite some time and have lurked this forum without an account since January, when I first decided to become a hypermiler. I drive a 2009 Toyota Yaris and have gotten way more out of this vehicle than I could have ever hoped for. Currently I get 51 city, 57 highway. Everything is stock, but I'm currently working on mods so that I can get it above 60mpg.

I finally joined this forum because I'm tired of those around me rolling their eyes whenever I discuss hypermiling, or anything car related, and want a place where I can discuss my interests, show off, and pick up new techniques and ideas.

I'm currently attempting that, actually! It may be a while before I have a 90-day average, and I have no idea what my lifetime is, as I had this car for 3-4 months before I started hypermiling. My only guess as to what dreadful mpg I was getting then was about 20-24mpg. I was a really aggressive driver!

**Just realized that the whole 90 day and lifetime estimates are automatically generated by the fuel log. Excuse my noobishness.

That's impressive mileage from a stock Yaris - congrats. What's your typical drive like?

Welcome to the forum!

Well, it depends, really. During the school year my commute to campus is 60% city and 40% highway. However if I'm going to see my mom in Columbus then its more like 10% city, 90% highway.

I know the stoplights in Dayton really well, though, which may explain the high city mpg. Plus it helps that when I do get stopped by a long stoplight, I turn the car off.
