Liquid Graphite
I need to put some liquid graphite in the key cylinders of both my Corolla and 4Runner. Is this a good enough one? American Grease Liquid Graphite
Do I just put some on the key and put it in and twist a few times back and forth? Can I do the same for the ignition or do I need to do something special?

Use powered graphite myself. Just squirt a puff or two into the key slot and turn back and forth a few times. Never used any in an ignition lock.

Like what? Never mind , I found it. Years ago we used to have Stomper (mini truck) pulls in the local taverns. I used a combination of grease and this powdered graphite on the gears and it held up better than anything else available at the time.

I used WD40 on my motorcycle .
Especially in the ignition lock as that tended to get stuck over time.
Water gets in, and remains in it.
Poured in WD40 until it dripped out at the bottom.
Repeat regularly.
Made a bit of a mess.
But never had any keying issues after that.

Native graphite is a POWDER, so "liquid" graphite is essentially a mixture of OIL & graphite powder...and oil collects & holds dirt, dust and grime...which is not good!

Thank you for the insight, I'll make sure not to use liquid. By native, do you mean powder? I've never heard of that term before.

^ Definitely. And I also use it in the ignition lock.
Depending on the key shape, I usually apply it to the key, insert it into the lock and rotate it a few times.
It can get messy.
