1991 Honda CRX - New Here... Hi, Everyone!

Hello everyone. I'm on my third 2nd gen CRX now. Currently rocking a great condition flint black 91 DX. Not a big fan of the automatic, but I'm hoping to pick up an HF transmission and swap that in, as I've done my fair share of work on Hondas.

I'm transferring over to the CRX to save some money. For the past year and a half, I've been driving a 98 Honda Prelude SH that I picked up blown up for cheap, and put a new H22 in it. Now, I'm getting more and more into saving some money, so I'm loving the CRX.

I'm 26, live in south Florida, and drive 70 miles round trip to work, so I'm very interested in everything this forum has to offer.

My current CRX is pretty much stock... lowered 1.5", with 15" Konig Britelite wheels (12.6lbs apiece... not bad). The stock exhaust was falling apart, so I have the GReddy on there now... a little loud, but it was cheap, does the job, and looks pretty nice.

I'm interested in maybe converting to a d15z1 with an HF transmission one of these days... converting to OBD1, but right now I'm focusing on selling the Prelude and paying off some debt.

Anyways... enough about me... some pics of the CRX are below... you can see all my pictures at Pictures | Adam Shafer. The white Prelude is my old one... and a few years back I drove the yellow CRX SI with a DOHC ZC in it.

Welcome to Ecomodder's.
If you put a HF transmission in I would expect you will see a 5-10% in your mileage.

SVOboy has a 1st gen CRX that he switched from a automatic to a manual about a year and a half ago. He was able to get his mileage up into the 40's. He got a used VX engine, from Japan and an non-California VX controller and converted it over to that about 6 weeks ago. He got about 60 mpg on a trip to Detroit.

Welcome to the site. I second taking a look at SVOboy's CRX. Do a search for 'project dream crx' or something similar. Don't forget about the 100+ hypermiling tips either. They'll help you start saving gas right away.
