1992 Ford Ranger 4.0L just got 26.47mpg!!

Well here's my story, I'm a Full-time Master's student and I just got married. My wife already had a house so I moved in since I was in a trailer! It's great being married but the problem is that it put me 63 miles from my university! Well I drive a lifted Jeep wrangler on 37" tires that has been my daily driver for years... yeah yeah I know gas guzzeler. Well her father has a business and graciously allowed me to borrow one of his work trucks to commute to school in (the 92 Ranger 4.0 V6 manual). The bad side is that it doesn't get that much better mileage than my jeep! (I had regeared my jeep to be better on gas) So in a search for better MPG I found this wonderful site and signed up! A few hours later with tons of new techniques and gadgets in my dreams I decided to try a few tricks on the ol' commute to school. So here's the data:

* Filled up the night before and returned to exactly the same pump after completing trip. *
Distance to school: 63 miles X 2 (round trip) = 126 miles
Fuel used: 4.76 gallons
126/4.76 = 26.47 mpg!!!

EPA numbers for 92 Ranger 4.0 manual: 16/22

Techniques used (when possible):
P&G
EOC (I live in the mountains so I probably got 5 miles of this gas free!)
no AC (barely had window cracked)
It was raining so I tried to drive on the 'hump' or high part of the slight tire ruts in the road. You can hear and feel a difference if you have the window down. That's pretty much it

I'm hooked! Now to find a Metro and get ridiculous on this MPG craze!! :D:D

So can anyone figure out what % that is better than the EPA??

Do you know what the combined epa is?

The easiest way would be to fill out a fuel log and let it do the math automatically.

EPA is 18 combined, so (26.47-18)/18=47.1% above EPA
Very Nice.
