My first 2014 Mirage sighting

My first reaction was:
"what is this tiny car on the road".
"Look how thin the wheels are!"
"is it from the 90s?"

Then I saw the name "Mitsubishi Mirage". Pretty sweet little car. Glad to see a new small eco car on the road.

The wheels/tires are the same size as the 1st gen Insight. (Some Insight owners are actually hopeful that the factory LRR Dunlop Enasaves on the Mirage will be good replacements for the Bridgestone RE92's that are discontinued. If I'm not mistaken Mitsu also puts those on its iMiev EV.)

I snapped a pic a week or so back of the first Mirage I've seen parked in the wild, this one sporting a set of winter wheels/tires:

Though I've actually seen 2 others on the highway.

I think this car is a future ecomodding classic.

The MiEv runs 15's. An odd, expensive staggered set too. They're a 155 R15 in back, 175 or something in front (wasn't interested in those). Not hearing good things about tire life from them either.

Thanks for clarifying. When I heard the iMiev had Enasaves, I assumed the same size as the Mirage.

I saw my first one day before yesterday... it was doing 25 in in a 40 in the right lane with its emergency flashers on.

Don't know if they were having trouble, or maybe hypermiling?
