1st 80 MPG trip!

This is from testing the new wheel covers out yesterday. It is only a 4-4.25 mile trip. However, my previous best was 63.8, so this is substantial for me :D

Used DWL, P&G, and EOC & EOnC to achieve this. SG is calibrated well!

The car is an automatic, btw :turtle:

I can get about 240mpg coasting down a 2 mile hill near my house.

That is sweet, especially for that truck, mikeyjd. This is not all down hill, though. Being in the coastal plain, there is too few hills and too much flat land.

I'll make a video and when I figure out how to upload it, I will!

put a few more miles on that tank and get an average. like said, there are stretches where I can get 112 mpg but it all averages out.

I felt like I needed to let everyone know, this short trip is not one that I did with bad intentions of looking better than anyone else. This route is one that I have used to test aero mods for the past 6 months on my car. The mpgs have risen, from 51 to 53, to 58, 59, 61, 63 and now this crazy 80 of yesterday. I don't want anyone thinking I am trying to get more glory than what is due. Just excited to share a small stepping stone in my ecomodding journey :)

So like a daily A-A-A-B-B-B-C-C-C! too bad you live in the flat land and can't coast down test!!

what's the technique for the 2.5 mile drive?

Great trip! I need to get my **** together and start trying harder. I'm happy when I get home and the trip is 40+. Then again, I don't really do 2.5mile jaunts, my work commute is 30 miles...

That's good, but I doubt the statistically validity of such and improvement. Hopefully long term average shows you right.

It does not affect the validity of the stats, they are still weak. This is just important mainly to me lol!

To start off, it is an acceleration of ~65% load to 45 mph out of town. Then it is DWL up a bridge, then EOnC down. I DWL through a S-turn and up the hill leading out of it. Then I accelerate at max BSFC (80-85%, TC locked) till 55 mph & my coast point. Then it is EOC for close to 2 miles to my driveway.

Not super scientific, but I am getting there :D

There is a mile stretch of near perfectly flat road near my girlfriend's house. I think that will be my location to do some serious scientific calculations with aero mods.

I remember my first 80 mpg trip like it was yesterday. :D
