Yep, i'm new. Just got the car last week, had the dealership replace the timing belt yesterday and put new tires on it (Mastercraft MC 440 185-65-14)
The car has 120,000 miles on it, I think i'm the third owner.
Best I can tell it's all original.

First full tank of mixed driving with AC on got 35mpg.
I just ordered a short ram cold air intake from ebay.

I am thinking about an exhaust replacement and possibly ignition system replacement, but not sure what kind, size, price or brand.
Help? Suggestions?
Oh, I have a PLX Kiwi BTII to monitor everything

I hope this wasnt for MPG reasons?

Welcome to the site Adam. Its nice to see you getting such good mileage off the bat with the Mirage, impressive.

I will agree with Insight for life in that a short ram intake is not going to help with getting better gas mileage. Neither will a new exhaust, in fact it'll probably hurt it. If you carefully design a new intake system or exhaust system, you can see gains, but they'll likely come at the cost of a few horsepower up top.

Bad idea?

yeah for MPG you want a warm air intake WAI or a hot air intake HAI.

Many people have done it and it helps the car get warmer faster and when the engine is hot you get them good MPGS. Most people would agree with me. This is listed in the 65+ Vehicle modifications for better fuel economy - EcoModder.com
