2001-2002 Civic airbag recall
 

Just FYI, for any unaware, like me, that the Takata recall reaches back to a few cars of interest on this site:

Had mine replaced 3-4 years ago.

Seems like it would be hard to just ignore this one with as much as it's been in the news.

Funny how Honda made a big deal about the '01 Civic being one of the first two cars to get an all-around 5-star rating:

and now it is a "death trap"!

How much did it cost to replace? Is it a tough DIY job?

Recall on safety items, Honda pays the bill completely.

They also replaced my driver's side seat belt latch free of charge even though the car was over ten years old. There is a lifetime warranty on certain safety items.

That's the only way I let the dealer work on my cars...

did the shop say anything about your mods? :D

Not directly, but I overheard the manager tell a tech to bring the "spaceship" up. I think there were some conversations going on in the background.

Most of the comments I've received about my Civic were pretty positive. I think the silver moon caps on a silver car really work well together.
