2001 Suzuki GZ250 - considering buying
 

So, there is someone selling a 2001 Suzuki GZ250 pretty close to me. I haven't gone and looked at it, but it seems like a pretty reasonable price. It runs and it seems the only cosmetic issue is a hole in the seat. It has 24k miles on it. They're asking $550 OBO.

Thoughts?

Might be fine for in-town, but it's not going to have much power so higher speeds may be a problem. Should be great on gas and easy to work on.

Check the book value, but the price seems reasonable. Maybe find some reviews online to get familiar with it before buying it.

I know nothing about Suzuki but it is an ecomodder friendly price and displacement

If it starts easily, runs well and drives down the road well, that is not a bad price at all.

I think it's carburated....?

If I had my druthers, a fuel injected version would be more fuel efficient, but doubt I would spend an extra 500-1,000 bucks to get that in a newer version.

If you dramatically improve the aero, it will have very adequate power on the highway.

A very comfortable cruiser but less power than other bikes in that displacement. Black is harder to see than lighter colors. Definitely recommend streamlining. Check the tires and compression ratio.
