2010 Honda Insight with Mugen Zero-Lift

I was researching information on the new Insight and came across this body kit. Do you think these add-on's will increase FE or are they just for show? It's hard for me to believe that Honda engineers would not have added these items if they made a significant improvement FE.

The name of the kit says it all: "zero-lift". At the expense of induced drag. There is no way that rear spoiler isn't going to hurt.

I don't really get it. The car looks kinda cool, but an insight will never be a sports car. Maybe it will help the insane hyper-milers if they want to corner at 60 mph to preserve momentum. hehe.

That new Insight kinda looks like a gen-2 Prius. I guess the best shape is something like a cockroach ;)
I'm surprised that Mugen didn't offer wheel skirts. Not to mention moondiscs.

I'd bet my lunch that rear spoiler alone hurts Cd enough to show up in a coastdown or steady state MPG test.

The other add-on bits are probably neutral to insignificant, except the wheels, which look like air blenders.

i clicked the link having half made up my mind this would be another spoiler and ugly airdam affair, but i must say there's bits i'm not-so-sure of they're not slightly better than stock. especially the sideskirts look like what there was on early opel omega's and the last vectra, both had an 0.28 Cd... not bad considering the omega is a big 80's sedan

also the wheel boattails look quite good... not sure to what extend these are also on the stock car. finally the grill looks quite aero friendly (although i don't think what ever whas tere before will preform less).... at least they didn't slap a huge chrome dogcage in there... the front airdam looks interesting, but i'm not sure if it does much.... wheels and poiler are puke.

anyway, not saying any of this will help get better mpg.... and likely it's not worth the money, but
