2010 Kia Forte 36.37 MPG
270.5 miles, 7.438 gallons for 36.37 MPG.
This is my best recorded tank so far. No mods other than over inflated tires. Kept it at 60 on the freeway, took advantage of some clean air opportunities when they were there. The car is EPA rated 28 MPG combined, 34 MPG on the highway. So I think to get a tank above the highway rating is pretty darn good. Most of the driving was highway for this tank, but still, it's my personal best, so far. I have grill blocks and smooth wheel covers planned as well. I can't wait to see how they work out. |

Cool beans! I like the Kia Forte design, especially the mini-wagon, so I am interested in how a Forte performs in the hands of an Ecomodder. CarloSW2 |
Good going, jsatter.
I've averaged 40.1 mpg over 4200 miles in my wife's AT 2006 Hyundai Elantra with 2.0 liter engine on long highway trips. Its EPA estimates are 21/29/24, 5 mpg less than your Forte's highway rating, and 4 mpg less than your combined estimate. |
