2012 Honda Insight body damage/salvage but runs
 

Greetings,

Note: this is NOT a vehicle I have myself. There is a DAMAGED 2012 Honda Insight for sale in the Philadelphia area that is for sale, very inexpensively with very low miles. I would like to get the wheels/tires off of it, however, the guy won't do a deal just for the wheels and I know y'all are interested in this sort of thing, so I figured maybe I can help make this happen and get the wheels. The guy says the car starts. There is damage to the front, rear, side, etc. I'd personally say the body is totaled from what I have seen, but there are a ton of like-new parts on the thing. It's just under $3000.

Id try this on the insightcentral forum. 3 grand, I got 15 bucks, 2985 to go. :eek:

Great, Ron... but it's on the other side of the country from where you are... would it be worth it to ship?

(And for the record, it seems that there is more interest here than insightcentral... either that or we have a lot more members here..)

But c'mon folks.. nobody gonna bite? maybe 2700 or 2600 with what I'll put in on the wheels and the final deals... brand new insight with all the hybrid components... tons of parts for a general part out.... easily make your money back and more on the parts you don't want.. and have the best battery packs & hybrid components with next to no mileage...

More than likely the shipping would cost to much. I was just expressing an interest in it for a future project and my mad money went a few weeks ago for a new 200amp power panel quite unexpected I might add.

Would you mind answering the questions posed in the thread on said website then? :eek:

How many miles? Exact location? Is it drivable at all? Any photos? Is the IPU/IMA box in the rear intact? Are the lamps or doors salvagable? Is the power train under the hood intact?

Uhmmm... this sounds accusatory. The only questions I have seen so far have been yours below. There are no questions posted in my thread on insightcentral, and none here until the following.

I would have answered them, but... it looks like the window on this opportunity may have now closed. Oh well.. next time.
