I use a "Kill-A-Watt" in the HOME the same way I use a "ScanGuage" in the CAR...for economy!


For instance, where a 23W CFL can have a power factor of roughly 0.63-0.66 (indicating a LOT of 'reactive' load), a 7W LED will have a power factor much closer to unity, ie: 0.95-0.96 (indicating almost totally resistive load).

Since a 'reactive' load makes your power company upset (and motors work less efficiently)...the LED is a better choice than CFL, especially when you have lots of them (CFL's) in use.
