2019 RAV 4 (Rental) over 40mpg
 

last week rented a 2019 Toyota RAV 4 (non hybrid)
I drove it from FRESNO, CA to LAS VEGAS, NV
the car had 2 adults and about 200lbs of luggage

filled up and reset the trip computer in FRESNO,
went across town for breakfast, and made one stop for coffee and restroom after a couple hundred miles, then on to vegas where we filled up again, she took 10.4 gal and we had traveled 440 miles (42.31 mpg, trip computer said 42mpg)
we spent most of the time with the cruise set about 70-75mph

I was very impressed with this thing and how well it did on fuel
especially considering the room it had

When do you make the return trip? I'll be curious if the MPGs are similarly impressive then.

it was a one way rental

I drove it another 350 miles all around vegas
in heavy traffic running the AC
as well as in and out of vallet parking a dozen or so times
ended up averaging about 32-34mpg on that tank
