2021 GAC TIME Concept, Cd 0.191

If this link works, it may be the best 'look' we're likely to get for this '2016 M-B IAA-esque' car. It's not as accurate as a 'blueprint', but until that day comes, probably all we'll have to 'work' with.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I brought some Post-Its, and drafting tools to the library, and using the largest, side elevation and plan-view of the car, and using the M-B IAA Height (H),measured:
Length- L=4918.8mm
Width- W=1570.6mm
Height-H=1305mm
Body height-h=1204.6mm
Ground clearance-GC=100mm
Forebody=2446.6mm ( 49.74% of L )
Aft-body=2472.1mm ( 50.26% of L )
Verjungungsverhaltnis- V= 2.052
L/H= 3.7692307
L/h= 4.083333
L/W= 2.686131
L/ square-root of Af = 3.577885574
Frontal area ( Af ) approx. 20.3443 sq-ft ( 1.89 meters-sq ), @ 92.21439% of gross area
21-degree tangent angle ( to the horizon ) @ body's upper trailing edge

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I had nine cars in my archive which have similar 'V', which gave a drag spread from Cd 0.13, to Cd 0.20, with an average of Cd 0.163; indicating more efficient shapes than the GAC's.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
NOTE: Since we're working from photographs, which introduce parallax error due to camera distance from the vehicle, all 'measurements' are 'qualitative' instead of truly 'quantitative.'
Perhaps, in the future, someone will provide a scaled, technical drawing of the car in 'true-length.'

Where we're going, we don't need seat belts.... Or foot pedals.

But we will have a Charley Brown Christmas tree.

' will we ?'

Yes to the Christmas tree, but no to Pig-pen attached to the back of the car!;)

"2016 M-B IAA-esque' car"

My thoughts too.

some extra numbers

I looked at the plan-view today and got a 'width', which, when scaled arbitrarily to the height of Mercedes-Benz' IAA, allowed me to refigure all the dimensions.
I also used the net percentage of gross frontal area that was published for the M-B IAA.
Choosing any 'similitude' criteria, like height, width, length, forebody percentage/ aft-body percentage, 'V', EBLA, frontal area, etc., allows comparisons to any vehicle, when 'normalized' to a specific dimension of choice.
The new material was added back at #1 (permalink ).

' Exterior dimensions from 1:18th-scale die cast model '

Browsing online, I came across a die-cast 1/18-scale model for the GAC TIME concept. which provided scale length, width, and height centimeter measurements.
Multiplying by 18 yields full-scale:
L= 5490mm
W= 1980mm
H=1386mm
h=1253.8mm ( approx. by measuring side elevation image )
GC=132.1mm ( by same technique )
Forebody= 49.1%-L ( by ditto )
Aft-body= 50.9%-L ( by ditto )
Verjungungsverhaltnis = 2.052 ( ditto )
Gross frontal area = 29.538936 sq-ft ( 2.744257 meters-sq )
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The exterior dimensions for the Cd 0.19, 2016 M-B IAA, of which the 'TIME' appears quite similar, are available online for comparison.
They're not 'clones' of one another, but do share geometric similarities.
