24.1 mpg! (F-150 with Aerolid)

Today was a good day for a road test. The winds were light, around 5 mph out of the ENE. The temperatures were around 70 degrees here in Arkansas. So, I drove to Texarkana, Arkansas and back, a distance of 267.8 miles.

My 2009 F-150 with the 4.6 liter, 2 wheel drive, 6 speed automatic is rated at 20 mpg for highway travel at Fuel Economy. I burnt 11.1 gallons of gas to Texarkana and back which equals 24.1 mpg!

I am stoked! Had to take a picture of the truck with the Aerolid on it as the afternnon sun was fading. There are some good devlopments happening right now in getting the Aerolid to market, and this test run showing a 20% increase in fuel efficiency will definitely help.

Thanks to all,

Bondo

Congrats Bondo! That's great news. I'm still fussing with my aeroshell, slowly learning how to get improvements out of it. Someday I will be up there with your numbers.

Great mileage at real speed equals interest from non-ecomodders. That'll bring 'em.

AWESOME! I think you'd see more than 20% improvement using the EPA test cycle.

I doubt it, the average speed of the EPA cycle being slower than 70 mph.
