28 heating oil (kerosene) and diesel difference's
Hi guys,
I recently fitted a diesel burner on my EV. The heater has very short heating times of about 1- 4 minutes between cycling, rather than the manufacturer minimum 15minute run time. I thought it would be a good idea to run kerosene since it gives a cleaner burn. Trouble is, what I received has the same yellowish color as diesel and smells just as diesel. It also seems to be just as oily. Any way I could find out if I've just been sent regular diesel? I was assuming kerosene would be a white/blue liquid with a different smell altogueter? |
Kerosene is not so oily, and it's somewhat more volatile than Diesel but not so much as gasoline is.

Kerosene is sometimes yellowish and stinks. Paint thinner is decolorized, deodorized kerosene and is the same as petroleum solvent.

Actually, kerosene and diesel that is sold in some countries is the exactly same thing, "kerosene" is just more lightly taxed.
In finland, kerosene has coloring in it that is hard to remove and if it's found in your diesel car's tank, you are essentialy f**ked because you get a enormous penalty tax/sanctions |
