+50mpg over 1000 miles thanks to you guys! (EPA=32)
So I've combined my last 3 full ups and Aparently I'm getting 50.8mpg! The EPA on my car says I should be getting around 32 combined!
I'm posting here because I wanted to thank everyone who contributes to posts about adjusting the nut behind the wheel. I didn't do anything but change my habits and my goal snuck up on me. I was just trying to get to 40mpg. My onboard computer was saying that I was getting around 39 -45 mpg... Numbers don't lie! Thanks Hypermilers! ;) Path of least resistance Buying quality fuel Removing unnessisary weight (junk, spare, etc). Neutral coasting to lights, stop signs and sharp turns. Don't burn fuel while stopped Pumped up tires to 44psi Accelerate consistently and efficiently. Used cruise when I don't have the attention on saving mpgs. Saving momentum on hills and turns. |
Congratulations on those results, this a good example of techniques and possible results for other drivers.

Congratulations !
Me thinks you will be aiming for even better numbers from now on. |
I've driven another 1000 miles and was unable to recreate the mpgs seen here. at this point I'm going to claim there was a data error or unforseen influence that made this happen.. Hopefully I can get there. I'm sticking to my goal of +40mpgs over a 1000 miles.
