8 seater serial hybrid possibilities?
 

I'm wondering how hard it would be to DIY build a serial hybrid that would seat at least 8 people. So, we could run around town on electric only and take long road trips without having to worry about where we can charge up.

Is this something that has been done before?

Not that anyone is aware of. Not that it can't be done, just have to be committed to a project of that size. When going into something that big, you will have to do your math. Start over at the electric vehicle side of this site and learn all you can if you are unfamiliar. It won't be cheap, that's for sure.
