Well, that was quick! (Touch wood.)

You must have the patience of a saint to have driven it with all those glitches...

But it has "issues". It may be a testament to VW or to my driving abilities, but I have never had a car with so many problems with so many systems that I still felt comfortable using for a daily driver.

So the good is that it looks fine, I didn't spot any rust or significant dings, and the interior is in one piece. AC works last I tried it. Starter is new. It is diesel, I would fill it up with b100 at feece oil in batavia most of the year. It gets stellar gas mileage.

The bad: drivability wise, the clutch has been dragging for maybe 15k miles, this means you have to speed shift it (match rpms), not hard once you get the hang of it. Also putting it in first at a stop means kill the engine first. It could be the Dual mass flywheel, was going to replace it with a single mass unit. The shifter cables need frequent adjustment. Needs tires, dipstick tube, brake assist is gone, some code about the glowplug relay, drivers window switch doesn't like freesing weather. Low beams are out, highs aimed low. The blower motor started acting up and that is when I figured I don't have time to keep up with it.

so either you are a skilled driver who can juggle a dragging clutch and whatever else, and/or you are good with a wrench and have time to fix her up.

My clutch went out on me one time and I had to drive without it for a week. It was the WORST week of my life. I was always shouting at the person ahead of me at the stop sign to go before I had to come to a stop and bump start it with the starter. How you manage to live with this on a daily basis, I do not know. GLWS
