Hey, can a moderator "embed" the video? I am not sure how to do it right!

It took him a while to get into the "spirit" of the show, but in the end I was pleased he would put himself through that to push his product.

An optional PV roof!!!

Colbert: "Why don't we just call it the Chevy Gore?" ROFL!

The Chevy Volt will have a 40 mile range, cost the equivalent of $.60-.80 per gallon and have an onboard 1.4Liter engine to extend range by over 200 miles.

I thought it was interesting that Lutz kind of insulted their target consumers for the car twice in the interview, neither of which was in joking.
1st, he stated that "30k scientists all over the world agree with me - CO2 is not responsible for global warming"
2nd, he agreed with colbert, saying that it would attract "a different kind of woman" - the grungier type. There are lots of environmentalist women that aren't hippie, nonshaving ones.
I still think he wants it to fail. Sounds like he's one of the people who destroyed the EV1, which was a better car than the volt IMO. "aerodynamic drag on a gas car, and you just lose a little more gas. On an electric car, this results in a significant reduction in range" Ummm, why not get a 500 mile range on a gas car rather than a 350 mile range?
argh, venting... I won't be able to afford the car anyway.

I remember that GM released a S-10 EV at the same time they released the EV1.

Are they doing a similar multi vehicle rollout this time?

The cool thing about that S10 was that it basically WAS an EV1 system, just in an S10 body - including, get this, two-wheel FRONT WHEEL drive.

A power company down in Georgia sold a pair of them on Ebay a while back. I don't think they knew what they had!

I haven't heard of any other car based on the VOLT design yet.

You still can buy the EV S-10 on Ebay!

For years the trucks have been running a silent duty. If you want one that still runs expect to pay $26,000.

If you want want one that is inoperable expect to pay $20,000. The reason the broken ones demand such a high cost is because they just need $5,000 worth of batteries.
