97 Honda CRV Aero Mods
Hello All, I started reading and fallowed what others have done on this site. Let me know any ideas or suggestions. This is only a temporary setup, next I will use aluminum sheets for a better custom design. This setup I used coroplast from a local sign store I found. $20 for one 4x8 sheet. Looks like it has already saved me from a possible flat tire.

haha luck be with you lol. it actually looks pretty clean for a coroplast install. maybe a splitter could be installed to further strengthen the plastic and keep some more air out from under the car. ;)

That's a pretty big increase in frontal area. It might be too much.

Looks good. I assume that in St. Louis this time of year that you are getting enough cooling, and I see that the cooling slot is adjustable - good.
I second the idea of a small splitter at the bottom. You can find some lighweight aluminum angle extrusions at Lowes or Home Depot that can be bent into gentle bends and pop rivited into space Have you don an A-B-A test yet? |
airdam
The airdam is a good move.I would recommend, that if you had more coroplast, that you shingle a bit more behind the trailing edges, wrap it tight against the sides, and bring it as far rearward as you can without scrubbing on the tires.( current NASCAR noses would offer a fine example to follow)
I'm concerned that as she sits, the lower sides are directing air outward instead of back, and this will aggravate the flow along the sides. My pickup responded very favorably to this kind of setup,I think you'll be well rewarded at the pump. |
