auto air dam

so i was thinking the other day i added an air dam to my car and it got hot real quick and noticed the fans alot more. the car obviouslly already knows when the car is to hot. so what if i could open the air dam like a door and close it automatically using mini hydrolics. with enough of them it would be able to handle the force of wind at 60+ mph. this could be done on a switch or i was thinking since the car knows when it needs to be cooled down why not use the fans power to open or close the grill block. make it a auto smart car so it just cools it self when it knows it needs to.

has anyone ever tried something like this

...yes, it'll work, but using pneumatics (air or vacuum) might be easier than using hydraulics...and safer.

...FWIW, this "trick" is also going to be seen on the 2011 Cruze Eco model, and is already in use on some BMW models.
