Air intake temp on fuel consumption

I have found some great article on air intake temperature on the fuel consumption https://jurnalteknologi.utm.my/index...view/5639/3778
It looks like that optimum air temp is 68*F for fuel economy, efficiency and lower emissions.

They tested fot 20-25 and 30 deg C and concluded that 20 deg C was best for BSFC.

Also as rpm increades BSFC decreases. The reason is stated as higher velocities promote better mixing of the fuel.

If i were performing the experiment, i would have decreased the intake air temp untill i saw peak benefit. The range seems narrow... 0 deg C to 100 deg C would have been more satisfying data.

That file is safe?

They basically tested warm air intake. I would like to see hot air intake results. In my personal testing my car has the best fuel economy between 90*-100*F(32*-37*C) without loosing much power.

I basically do not understand, they already had the setup, why not do a few more tests?

115F intake manifold air temp was the early 1970s number in emissions control. Cool fuel and warm air.

One contributor here has found that with his turbocharged diesel truck that steady-state is best just above 100F.

I will get to the bottom of this some day.
