How you start a Whirlpool Gold Series dishwasher?!

Mom took the money and moved to a warmer climate. My brother wants me to run the dishwasher. I just remember that you push the Play button and something else, but I have not been able to get it to work, and when I looked up instructions I just got this nonsense:

1. Clean any food scraps off your dishes and load the dishes, cutlery and glassware into your Whirlpool dishwasher in the appropriate racks and spaces.
2. Place soap made specifically for dishwashers in the soap dispenser. How much depends on the brand of soap you purchased, so read the product label first.
3. Close the dishwasher door until you hear it click. This means the door has latched properly.
4. Turn on the kitchen sink faucet and other faucets in the home and run the hot water for several minutes, if the hot water system has not been used for two weeks or more. Hydrogen gas, which is flammable, can build up in some hot water systems when they are unused for several days; running the hot water disperses any hydrogen gas that might be in the system. Do not smoke or light a match while running the faucets.
5. Choose your preferred washing cycle by pressing the appropriate button down. The dishwasher automatically starts filling up and cleaning your dishes.

Wait! You can use a water heater to create hydrogen?! I would ask them to write a "Use a Water Heater to Create Hydrogen," article, but it would just be click-bait, like this.

Why does it tell me how to push buttons, but not which buttons to push?! Why is this called "How to Start a Whirlpool Dishwasher" when it is clearly "How to Load Dishwashers for Idiots?!"

Well, if I cannot figure out this before my brother comes home from his day program he will try to make it work and probably break it.

However, we will then have a dishwasher with an instruction manual!

My house came with a wp elite serries, sounds pretty much the same idea.

I put in a hot water heater circulation pump on the furthest lines in the house controlled with a hand timer and 110F thermostat. So it times out or the thermostat stops it.

This is how I do it.
1 let the dogs lock the dishes perfectly clean.
2 sling dishwasher soap on the inside and put some in the soap holder.
3 it's close enough to the hot water heater.
4 select the wash cycle I want to use.
5 shut the door.

Yes hot water heaters can produce some hydrogen.

How to load the dishwasher, who cars, just make sure nothing can fall through the bottom and sit on the heating coil and make sure nothing sticks up high or goes through the bottom enough to interfere with the spray bars.

For the record, you select the cycle, and then push the play button. I forgot the order of operations and wasted a few minutes pushing buttons and longer using Google.
