For all you guys with MX-3s

I just searched all of my previous posts using "mx-3" and couldn't find a question i had posted for all of you mx-3 owners before, so this is a dedicated thread. I'm assuming i had it inserted into a previous thread somewhere.

So - a question for all of you MX-3 owners : Who is going to be the first to do a tuft test on this car ( especially the rear of the car ) :D

The MX-3 looks sleek, yet has a very boring Cd of .32 ( .31 with factory body kit )

I am very puzzled by the high drag of the car, and I'm really curious to see where the problem areas are on this car.

This has been puzzling me for nearly two decades now ( ever since the car came out )

The slope of the back window is at a good angle, and all body panels are smooth without protrusions such as flares.

I would guess that there is perhaps some problem areas at the very rear of the car since the rear flanks are very rounded versus having a sharp break.

Still, this would not be enough to drive the Cd so high. When the car is superimposed against a first gen. Insight, the profiles are very close.

The underside of the car is very cluttered, but so are many cars that have more boxy shapes, yet lower Cds.

In plan view, there is a lack of taper to the rear quarter panels with only the rear glass being tapered in.

Still, this shouldn't be enough to drive the Cd so high !

The only other areas that i see as perhaps adding so much drag would be the area just behind the window glass on the door where it seals to the body ( the B pillar window seal .) It juts out at a rough angle and might be doing something - but still surely not THAT bad !

Yes, I suspected i had it buried in that thread somewhere, but I thought i remember creating a thread just like this one somewhere already - apart from that one.
If you feel like enough MX-3 owners have read the question, feel free to delete this thread Darin.

Well apparently you haven't gotten the answer you're looking for yet, so no harm in leaving it.
