Allow me to introduce myself...
 

So, I've been a lurker for awhile and recently acquired my 98 Civic and at shortly thereafter I registered with the forum. I decided to try and be a bit more conservative with my money and as a result I wanted to find out how I could best save money by changing my driving habits, and if efficient possibly making modifications to my vehicle. So far all I have done is increase tire pressure to max PSI and I'm an AMSOIL dealer, so I changed fluids over to AMSOIL fluids.

Welcome! As we all know; its mostly the gray matter between the ears that will make the most mpg changes!

I always recommend extensive records. All miles, all gallons, and engine hours against odometer miles to find average mph. Then complete book maintenance done to date. New fluids, filters, etc, even if not specifically recommended. Wash and wax. Whatever it takes to make it new (to me). Right down to an ozone generator for the interior (commercial rental). And the kind of cleaning that gets me into every nook and cranny, even underneath. And a ticket from a certified weight scale showing what it weighs with me, full fuel and permanent supplies.
